I am, the way I am

I am the way I am.
How many times have you heard some one say that?, this kind of saying they are not going to change and everything else has to change to please them. You know that won't happen, but they still won't give in to change. You might have heard it said (For things to change, You must change) so what do they mean by this?. I heard this recently as well, and I started to think about it, if you don't want to make any changes how are you going to get anything that you want. We all get to that comfort spot in our lives where we like to be.
Some of us except it the way things are and we don't look at improving our situation what ever it might be, we don't know how. Most of us fear change, its stepping in to a different area of our lives where we are uncomfortable.

So for that very reason we don't try anything new, we have a fear of failing if we try something different so we don't. We have heard stories when we where young of things that might be bad if that was done so as we grow up the stories become real in our minds. we are not aware of them because they are in our subconscious and they keep us from doing certain things. This effects us and we don't even know it, our subconscious mind takes care of this for us. Let say that we have heard, money is the root of all evil now we are going to stay away from getting to much, we don't want to be evil. This way of thinking repels us from getting ahead, there for we stay where we are and don't strive for better. But there is a way you can change this.

You need to give yourself positive points that your are doing or will do to improve your self, let me explain.
Lets say your Budgeting so you tell yourself your budgeting, not that you want to budget but that you are budgeting and do this three to five times everyday even if it's slow at first. The more you tell yourself this the more you will believe it and therefore you will start to see the change in your income. Once you believe it then it starts to work. Here is an other one, tell your self you will have a great day today (I'm having a good day today) the first thing when you get up in the morning. Even when your day isn't starting out that way,
(I've tried  it and it works) better then you may think. Depending how bad the day starts out you may have to repeat this many times, but at the end of the day your in a pretty good mood.

What you are doing is changing the subconscious mind to think positive and this will start you to do more positive things. The saying is: For thing to change, You must change, this holds true for many things in your life, as well. The main part is that your giving the I AM THE WAY I AM the heave ho, and change things you want to change. Do this with thing with in reason to start with, you can shoot higher later. Don't tell yourself that your a Millionaire on minimum wage, this just doesn't add up ( hasn't worked for me yet) you get the point.

The shiny Objects

Shiny Objects

why the shiny objects hold you back?
All to often we are trying to get some where, and there's shiny object in our way. This shiny object can be a number of things. If your not happy with your job the next shiny object could be the lure of higher pay at a new company  or perhaps a new position. This not all ways the right choice to make, many times this is the wrong choice, and we have had it happen at least once.

In online marketing this happens all the time where we find a new offer or the next shiny thing, most of the time this slows us down from what are doing or what we could do. But every time this shiny object slows down our success that might have been forth coming. All to often, this is just  keeps us from our focus on the task at hand. We tell ourselves that we are going to stay on track, then ooh whats that? the next shiny object. How do we keep away from this Mentality? one way is to not to sign up for anything new unless it's going to help us get ahead. Delete your emails, yes I said DELETE your emails now stop checking them every few minutes, stay off you social sites that you have.After all do you see C E O's in coffee shops all day? chances are you don't.

Small business owners are at their jobs, sometimes for12 - 16 hours per day, this is the mindset you need to build for your self. For the first 6 month to a year you need to learn some new skills that you may need, but keep in mind that there are going to be times when you will need to learn more skills.
Once you understand this then it will become easier to focus on your tasks that you need to complete.
Where I live there are many contractors, you will see them in the coffee shops till around 9 am then they are gone and sometimes you may see them again at 4-6 pm. when you see them often they have finished the contract or they are working close by.

So to make this simpler, start setting a time for you project and stick to it for the allowed time. This will speed up you production a lot and of course get much more done. It may take a while to set up a schedule and stick to it but once you have it in place you will be happy you did. keep in mind in every schedule there are (what I call bombs) they are the untimely things that happen when you're busy. If you are a mom working at home then you know that one of the kids comes crying because they fell and you have to care for them. But this is good (inconvenient but good) it takes your mind off what your doing. It gives you few minutes to rethink or re-read what you already did. Sometimes this will give you the time to correct mistakes and to change somethings that you might have missed.

These bombs can screw up your day as well, they have a way of distracting you when you are in the most productive. So how do you keep this from happening? there really is no way to stop them but there is a way you can limit them. If you know that there is a potential for this to happen then deal with it first if you can. A few minutes in the morning or when you are about to start, make any calls that you might have to make so now they are done (keep them short). Some phone calls have a way of dragging on and on, try to keep them 5 minutes or less if possible. As for you children there is now time limit all you can do is get them interested in something that will keep them busy for some time.

Set aside time when you have finished any house hold chores, many people are busy with their lives and can't find the time. If this is you make the time, make time for your family as well as your own time. Remember that you are working to a goal that will allow you the freedom to have more time later. Being a single parent can be stress full and you don't have much time to juggle a job and home life. You can always try to log your daily activities, this way you can find where you could get more time from tasks. You can set aside the things that can be done later and set them up on a schedule (like a day planner) for later in the week.
When I was a kid, all the dusting was done on Saturday for Sunday, sometimes it took most of the day till it was done.

With the electronic age, we don't take the time to do things on the weekend, as we are busy during the week so we do things asap this way they are done.

Consumer Reports

Giving gift Cards this year?

Fed allows continued sale of mislabeled holiday gift cards

GiftCard_wcaptionborderIf you find a gift card tucked in your stocking this year, don’t assume that the information printed on the back of it is correct. In fact, there’s a reasonable chance that the expiration date and fee rules are wrong.
This latest snafu is the result of a little-noticed change to the gift-card rules of the Credit CARD Act of 2009. The act requires that gift-card funds remain valid for at least five years and limits when and how often card issuers can charge certain fees. For the details, see the summary posted on Defend Your Dollars, a Consumers Union advocacy website.
The new rules are good for consumers, but only if they know about them. So the CARD Act also requires that the new expiration dates and fee rules be printed on the cards, along with a toll-free number for cardholders who have any questions. And that’s where things got tripped up.
The CARD Act’s gift-card provisions took effect Aug. 22. But less than a month before that, Congress passed an amendment giving card issuers more time—until Jan. 31, 2011—to get noncompliant gift cards off the shelves. All the new gift-card rules contained in the CARD Act still hold, but information printed on the cards doesn’t have to be correct until after the holidays. Suzanne Martindale, an attorney at Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports, says that financial institutions were behind the amendment because they had the most at stake. “These are the issuers that sell multiple-use cards with a major network logo like American Express, Discover, or Visa. Those types of cards are more likely to come with fees and expiration dates printed on the cards that are now obsolete under the new law,” she says. “Single-retailer gift cards usually don’t expire and are less likely to deduct fees, so the disclosure requirements are less likely to affect them.”
A press release issued July 14 by the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association praised the amendment for preventing “the needless destruction of over 100 million plastic cards” manufactured before the new rules took effect. Extending the deadline also made sure plenty of gift cards would be available to shoppers during the holiday season, when 90 percent of all gift cards are purchased, according to the trade group.
The amendment includes a provision that’s supposed to help consumers avoid confusion about the mislabeled cards. Notice of the new rules must be prominently displayed on store signs or advertisements where gift cards are sold. Compliance was spotty when we did an informal check in late October at a dozen stores in California, Missouri, and New York. Three of the stores had large signs on or near the card displays, as required. But three other stores had only small, hard-to-read notices of the new rules affixed to the card kiosks, and six stores had no signs at all.
Yet even if every store selling gift cards continuously announced the new rules over the intercom, that would only help inform card buyers. It’s card recipients who need the information so they can make sure they use the cards before their value is whittled away by fees or they expire.
Complicating things further, many states have stronger laws for single-retailer gift cards that provide protections in addition to the federal rules. For example, in Connecticut, single-retailer gift cards cannot have any fees or expirations dates, period. To see if your state has a gift card law, check the fact sheet on state gift-card protections posted on Defend Your Dollars.
Martindale says consumer confusion will peak this holiday season, while cards with the wrong information are still being sold. But that won’t end the problem. “If this year is like any other, a sizeable number of people who get gift cards will let them sit in their wallets for months or years before they decide to redeem them,” she says. “That means it could be some time before all the mislabeled cards are out of circulation.”
To avoid this confusion altogether, Martindale recommends that you consider giving cash or a check to your loved ones this holiday season. But if you still plan to buy gift cards, include a note warning your recipient that the card could contain incorrect information. The recipient can also request a new card with the correct information printed on it. As always, we encourage anyone who receives gift cards to spend them right away to dodge their many other gotchas.—Jean Pietrobono

Who Is At Risk for a Heart Attack?

Who Is At Risk for a Heart Attack?

Certain risk factors make it more likely that you will develop coronary artery disease (CAD) and have a heart attack. Some risk factors for heart attack can be controlled, while others can't.

Major risk factors for heart attack that you can control include:

* Smoking
* High blood pressure
* High blood cholesterol
* Overweight and obesity
* Physical inactivity
* Diabetes (high blood sugar)

Risk factors that you can't change include:

* Age. Risk increases for men older than 45 years and for women older than 55 years (or after menopause).
* Family history of early CAD. Your risk increases if your father or a brother was diagnosed with CAD before 55 years of age, or if your mother or a sister was diagnosed with CAD before 65 years of age.

Certain CAD risk factors tend to occur together. When they do, it’s called metabolic syndrome. In general, a person with metabolic syndrome is twice as likely to develop heart disease and five times as likely to develop diabetes as someone without metabolic syndrome.
